Lugano in the Heart of Europe

Lugano is situated in Ticino, an alpine Canton in a strategic geographic position, directly on the North-South international axis of the St. Gotthard route (Milan-Lugano-Zurich). Lugano is extremely easy to reach through public transportation services (railroad, scheduled flights, etc.) and also by private transport.

Arriving By car:

All vehicles traveling on the Swiss highway must be equipped with the Highway Vignette, that allows vehicles to use on the entire Swiss highway system. Highway passes are sold at any Swiss Customs office at the price of CHF 40.

Arriving By train:

Traveling by train in Switzerland is easy and reliable. Lugano lies right on the North-South axis, with trains running between Milan (40 minutes to 1 hour) and Zurich (around 2 hours through the Gotthard Base Tunnel consists of two 57-kilometres-long single-track tubes, not only the world’s longest, but also the world’s deepest, railway tunnel constructed to date. Officially opened on June 1, 2016) every hour.
